Handbooks

Don’t miss the 3 Web2LLP handbooks:

  1. Improving web strategies of LLP projects
  2. Maximising the social media presence of LLP projects
  3. Tools for self-assessment

The Web2LLP team is creating these guides in response to a needs analysis undertaken in 2012, a desktop research of 150 projects funded by the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) (Song & Zourou, 2012) and an online survey for project managers, which both identified a low uptake of social media and revealed the need to upgrade skills and improve practices in this area.
These handbooks and tools are mainly intended for project managers and members of current or future LLP projects who are unable to attend the face-to-face and online courses organised by the Web2LLP team which will take place in Spring 2013, but can also be useful to anyone interested in using digital networks as enablers of sustainable interaction with target audiences. What is key is that there are no one-size-fits-all method of developing and monitoring a communication strategy, so mix and match the tools to suit your project and take a flexible attitude being ready to adapt to change. Happy reading and we welcome your feedback!

Improving web strategies of LLP projects

Maximising the social media presence of LLP projects

Tools for self-assessment

This handbook gives managers of lifelong learning projects (LLP) a set of methods enabling readers to build a web strategy, integrate social networks into the web strategy, and use measurement solutions to quantify the digital impact of an LLP project.

Starting from the key concepts dissemination, exploitation, valorisation and sustainability, this guide suggests a flexible approach to designing and implementing a web strategy.

Responding to the demand of lifelong learning project managers for upgrading skills in social media networks and tools, this handbook explains the benefits of connecting with your audience through networking sites, Twitter, LinkedIn, media sharing sites, blogs, slide repositories and online curation tools.

You will receive tips on choosing the most appropriate tool for your project activities, managing your time effectively, integrating and expanding networks, using third-party tools, and finally social media monitoring tools.

Establishing a coherent and sustainable communication plan is essential for preparation of a project proposal and also for the sustainability of the plan throughout the project lifetime.

This handbook gives managers of lifelong learning projects (LLP) the guidelines, tips and tools to understand the basics of setting up a coherent digital communication strategy for LLP projects through an action plan, implementing a set strategy and monitoring the progress or changes.

To complement these handbooks, our project makes additional resources available in the form of video tutorials, with more technical guidelines and support provided with actual LLP
examples. Expert feedback, provided by 15 experienced LLP managers who were interviewed, is also included in handbook 1 and 2 (see video gallery).
